Fine stufffs from almost rubbish

TRICIKEL

Tricikel is a story where discarded or surplus materials (which may never have served a purpose but would otherwise end up as waste) are given a new life. In a way, it’s a third cycle.

The idea was conceived around a friendly table, continued in a garage workshop, a partner's sewing room, and ended... well, not quite ended – it was reborn in Tricikel products.

These products are made from used tarpaulins, printer’s waste (those edges you never see but are created during the production process), old seat belts, and other beautiful, useful materials that didn’t make a strong first impression.

In the Tricikel garage workshop, “discarded advertising materials” that no longer serve their original purpose are first cleaned, prepared, and then carefully and precisely sewn by the hands of local seamstresses. Each product is unique and handmade, with the involvement of employees with disabilities and those included in employment rehabilitation and social inclusion programs.

The project is a collective effort:

  • Project Leader: Iztok Štukelj s.p.

  • Material Collection/Cleaning, Pattern Cutting, Organization: Iztok Štukelj & Uroš Grmek

  • Product Prototypes: Nataša Pijaža, Jaka Benedik, Centerkontura

  • Sewing: Nataša Pijaža, Centerkontura d.o.o. (a company employing people with disabilities)

  • VARISHANA Collection: Tara Zupančič

Designed, recycled and made in Slovenia. We support the local workforce.
